Building terms and conditionsBase PreparationWhen purchasing a garden building it is really important that the base is perfectly level and firm, as this forms the foundation on which the garden building will sit. If the building is installed at the customer’s request on an existing unsuitable base, then there is no warranty on the product. It is of the discretion of our fitting team to determine whether the customers own base is suitable. We provide a range of bases, see our website. These are made from tanalised 4×2 timber therefore, if they are pegged directly into soil this may cause the timber to rot prematurely, the of this will vary (Bases carry a 3 year warranty). On arrival if the base is unsuitable, this will prevent and delay the erection of the garden building and an additional site abortion charge will be incurred. If the customer requests Suresheds UK LTD to fit the building at a later date on a suitable base, there will be a 20% recall fee of the building cost (minimum of £250).

Access to the location

Consider any obstructions that may prevent access to the location where the garden building is to be erected for example height restrictions, arch top gates, witdh of alleyways, fences, overhead cables, trees, bushes, multiple sets of steps, tight/sharp corners. house doors, etc. Customer must advise us of any obstructions at the time of order.

On arrival if access cannot be gained, this will prevent and delay the erection of the garden building and an additional site abortion charge will be incurred. Suresheds UK fitters need roughly 18 inches around the building to fit the garden building properly.

Electrics

If the garden building is to be fitted with an electrical package, then it is the customers responsibility to ensure that there is a safe electrical supply to the location.

Suresheds UK Limited will take no responsibility for the electrical supply. We do not connect the garden building to the main supply

Painted Buildings

We offer a range of painted garden buildings. Although we take care in painting the building, wood is a natural product so will have knots and can expand and shrink, due to changes in temperature, so may impact on the look of the paint.

Timber

All our products are made from tanalised timber.

Wood is a natural product and may result in natural movement, for example, some expansion and shrinking. Knots and natural holes may also be visible. This is something that we cannot prevent.

The timber will require care and maintenance, it must be re-treated once it has dried out and it is also recommended that it is treated with an oil based product yearly. We can supply these products or offer advice and guidance. We will not be held liable if the wrong products are used, so if in doubt, please seek advice.

Garden buildings subject to heavy persistent rain are not 100% watertight, and may be subject to leaks over time and may show signs of dampness. Coating in an oil based product may assist in preventing this from occurring.

Condensation

Timber is a natural product therefore as weather temperatures fluctuate, condensation may occur. This is completely normal and can be mistaken as leaking which is not the case. You may add vents to your garden building, keep doors open or open anyyopening windows to help ensure the garden building is well ventilated, especially when it is not in use. If a building is not well ventilated this may lead to moisture and mould which Suresheds UK Ltd hold no responsablity for.
